Talent shortage hits U.S. institutes

Driven by the rise of corrective skincare treatments, the U.S. medspa market is facing a growing shortage of qualified professionals. According to Tricoci University of Beauty Culture, the number of establishments increased from 8,899 to 10,488 in a single year, while 40% of operators report ongoing recruitment difficulties.
The American school aims to address this pressure by strengthening its practice-oriented esthetics programs, covering facials, chemical exfoliation, hair removal and customized protocols. The objective is to train graduates who are immediately operational in medical spas, dermatology practices and specialized salons.
At a time when short-form education programs are gaining appeal, the institution is also promoting an educational model presented as faster and more affordable than a traditional university degree. The trend reflects the rapid professionalization of skincare-related careers across the United States.
