L’Occitane en Provence, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary, is launching a programme to secure the future of shea in West Africa. Based on three pillars – value chain, governance, and forestry – SH(E)ARE (SHea Action for Regenerative Ecosystems) combines tool modernisation, local cooperation, and a forest management plan. A pilot project has been underway since 2024 across more than 900 hectares of the Lati Forest in Burkina Faso, involving inventory, infrastructure rehabilitation, and training in assisted natural regeneration.
