The two organisations behind two of the leading certification standards for natural and organic cosmetics, have issued a joint position statement ahead of the implementation of EU Directive 2024/825, which will apply from September 2026. The two organisations state that their certification schemes already meet the Directive's strengthened requirements on environmental claims through publicly available criteria, independent third-party verification by ISO 17065-accredited certification bodies, and ongoing compliance audits. They argue that these schemes provide a robust framework for substantiating natural and organic cosmetic claims while enhancing consumer confidence.
