Dove takes its olfactory heritage into fine fragrance

Nearly 70 years after launching its Original Beauty Bar, the brand is turning its signature scent into a limited-edition fragrance for the first time. Developed with Ann Gottlieb, a leading figure in fragrance development, Dove Original Fragrance recreates the clean, soft and familiar scent associated with the cleansing bar.

The glass bottle echoes the curved shape of the Beauty Bar and is topped with a sculptural gold bird cap. Priced at $19.57, in reference to the product’s 1957 launch year, the fragrance will go on sale in the US from 27 October as a one-off, limited-quantity release. The move shows how a long-established sensory identity in personal cleansing can be extended into fine fragrance.
