Shinsung makes ecamsule easier to formulate

South Korean company Shinsung Materials is working to facilitate the use of ecamsule (TDSA), a water-soluble organic UVA filter. Building on a patented high-purity purification process, the supplier has developed neutralisation and powder-processing technologies designed to improve the filter’s compatibility with formulations, as well as its storage and transport. According to the company, the resulting quality meets USP 44 specifications.

The manufacturer is also expanding its portfolio of naturally derived gelling agents for oil phases. Its OG-DP11, based on dextrin palmitate and COSMOS approved, combines transparency with gel strength. Three new solutions currently under development – OG-DP25, DM14 and DPE33 – are intended to enable finer control over texture, transparency, thixotropy and sensory profile. Stearoyl inulin complements this approach by helping to control viscosity and pigment dispersion stability.
