Sensory design becomes a formulation parameter
At in-cosmetics Asia, taking place from 3 to 5 November 2026 in Bangkok, the Spotlight On Multisensory area will explore how texture, fragrance and sensory perception are increasingly integrated from the earliest stages of product development. Twenty-seven exhibitors will showcase innovations across skincare, sun care, colour cosmetics, hair care, fragrance and baby care.
The concepts illustrate this shift: an ultra-light SPF50 water-like formulation from Alpol Cosmetique, a powder-to-serum transformation from IMCD, a three-stage sensory foundation from Matsumoto Trading, and dsm-firmenich’s Surpr-ICE Balm™, combining a balm-to-serum texture, cooling technology and fragrance. On the ingredient side, Ashland will present the starch-based Stabileze™ rheology modifier, while Bloomage Biotechnology will showcase MicrossHA™, combining salicylic acid and hyaluronic acid in what it describes as a “neuro-beauty” approach.
The innovations will also be assessed for the Spotlight On Formulation Awards, to be presented on 3 November.
