Santa Maria Novella revives a fragrant ritual

Inspired by the aromatic papers once used to purify and scent European interiors, Carta d’Armenia perpetuates a craft nurtured by the Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella since the 1930s. This creation combines paper, benzoin resin and fragrant extracts in slowly smouldering strips designed to release balsamic and resinous notes into the air.

Used without burning, the sheets can also be placed in wardrobes, drawers or luggage to delicately perfume fabrics and household linen. Each box contains eighteen strips intended to fragrance everyday living spaces.
