Pechoin maps Asian skin

For its tenth appearance at the IFSCC Congress, the Chinese brand, which is celebrating its 95th anniversary, is presenting 12 research papers focusing in particular on the distinctive characteristics of Asian skin and their translation into anti-ageing strategies.
One of these studies has already contributed to the development of Exquisite Jade Face Cream 2.0. Pechoin says the product was designed to take into account physiological characteristics observed in Asian women, including a relatively thicker dermis and comparatively flatter facial bone contours, moving beyond an approach centred solely on collagen replenishment.
The formula forms part of a strategy entitled “Clear • Replenish • Nourish”, combining references to traditional Chinese herbal medicine with modern biology. According to the company, the product has undergone clinical testing conducted by independent organisations and Chinese Grade III Class A hospitals, with results relating to firmness and signs of ageing, although no quantified data have been disclosed.
This approach builds on a research programme conducted with universities for more than ten years, including the creation of a database on the skin characteristics of Chinese women. Pechoin has also contributed to methods for assessing facial contour firmness and to a white paper on holistic ageing in Asian skin. Over the past decade, nearly 200 papers have been submitted to the IFSCC, around 100 of which have been accepted.
