Held on 12–13 August 2026, the 10th PCHi Technology Summit brought together more than 2,000 professionals across nearly 20 forums. Discussions notably addressed changes to China’s regulatory framework for new ingredients, including fewer risk categories, streamlined dossier and toxicology requirements, greater use of alternative testing methods, and new provisions for ingredient modification filings. A recurring theme was the need to invest in fundamental research, ingredient innovation and efficacy validation, rather than relying on marketing claims alone.

On the scientific front, longevity, synthetic biology and artificial intelligence attracted particular attention. Mitochondrial regulation, ginsenoside-based actives, extracellular matrix repair and fermentation-based production were among the avenues explored. An AI-powered skin database and an AI-driven ageing clock model also illustrated the growing role of data-driven approaches in cosmetic research.
