US ingredients supplier has obtained a consent judgment against Robert Shengkui Hu, former President of its Beauty & Personal Care business, resolving claims against him for trade-secret misappropriation, breach of contract, tortious interference and breach of fiduciary duty.

As part of the settlement, Robert Hu admitted breaching his confidentiality and non-compete obligations and using information gained at Hallstar to help develop competing product lines for Proscien SAS, as well as distributor relationships in China and South Korea. He agreed not to work for or hold an ownership interest in Proscien or its affiliates for 15 years, alongside a broader two-year non-compete covering the beauty industry.

Hallstar’s litigation against Proscien and its founder Jean-Claude Pierre is continuing.
