The PEPR MED-OOC priority research programme, launched last July at the Maison Minatec in Grenoble, aims to develop organs and organoids on chips. These miniaturised devices integrate living human cells into a controlled environment. By replicating the structures and functions of an organ, they enable real-time monitoring of biological phenomena, thus offering new opportunities to evaluate the efficacy of ingredients or products, and paving the way for more personalised approaches. Led by the CEA, CNRS and Inserm, this initiative is part of France 2030, the national investment plan dedicated to innovative and strategic technologies. The result of close collaboration between academic, clinical, and industrial players.
