Organised by Natrue, the inaugural Natural Cosmetics Industry Forum brought together nearly 70 experts from the scientific community, industry, brands and regulatory authorities in Berlin on 20 May. Discussions highlighted several key developments shaping the natural cosmetics sector: sustainability is now widely regarded as a prerequisite rather than a point of differentiation; natural active ingredients and biotechnologies are playing an increasingly important role in demonstrating product efficacy; and the tightening of the European regulatory framework is having a growing impact on environmental claims. Speakers also emphasised the importance of independent third-party certification in strengthening transparency and consumer trust. The next edition of the forum will take place in Brussels on 1-2 June 2027.
