Maurice Roucel celebrated his jubilee

At a special event, Symrise Fine Fragrance honoured one of its most esteemed talents, Maurice Roucel, marking his fifty years in the industry. A "brilliant and humble creator [...] a true visionary in every sense of the word," according to the German group. The Master Perfumer began his career at the age of 23 at Chanel, immersing himself in the molecular science of olfaction. He is behind iconic signatures such as Donna Karan's Be Delicious, L'instant de Guerlain, Hermès' 24 Faubourg and Rochas' Tocade. For him, "A perfume must include affection. So, some of this must go into the creative process." Highly regarded by his peers for his generosity, conviviality, and rigour, he has left an indelible mark on the fragrance industry.
