IOI Oleo opens a new formulation lab in Asia

The oleochemical ingredients manufacturer inaugurated its second Care Studio on 4 September in Penang, Malaysia, for customers across the Asia-Pacific region. The new centre combines consumer insights, trend analysis and application expertise to support the development of new personal care concepts.

At the heart of the facility is an application laboratory where formulations can be developed and tested with customers. During the opening, the teams notably created Blooming Oil Cleanser, a clear anhydrous cleansing oil that transforms into a milky emulsion on contact with water.

Care Studio APAC is also designed to strengthen collaboration between the teams based in Germany and Malaysia. It further expands the group’s co-development capabilities by bringing together ingredient expertise, formulation and the needs of the regional market.
