On 9 April, at its general assembly, the trade association representing cosmetics manufacturers in France presented its 2025 report, which highlighted the sector’s resilience in the face of US tariffs. The federation highlights its initiatives to promote competitiveness, combat counterfeiting, foster innovation, and simplify regulations, whilst welcoming the acceleration of the environmental transition. Looking ahead to 2026, it calls for the diversification of export growth drivers, support for responsible innovation and the preservation of a clear and predictable European regulatory framework.

Aware of the role young brands play in driving innovation, Febea has also published the practical guide "Je lance mon entreprise cosmétique", a practical guide designed to support new entrepreneurs at every stage, from regulatory compliance to marketing, including manufacturing and labelling.

Finally, the visit by Jessika Roswall, European Commissioner for the Environment, to the Clarins site in Pontoise on 13 March provided an opportunity to discuss the issues posed by the PPWR, the DERU, data digitisation, and the sustainable use of natural ingredients within the framework of Omnibus VI.
