DSM-Firmenich unveils emotiOn™ social connection

At a time of hyperconnectedness where isolation is more prevalent than ever, the Swiss-Dutch giant aims to strengthen social bonds by introducing emotiOn social connection. Developed as part of its emotiOn programme, the result of 30 years of neuroscience research, the patent-pending technology identifies olfactory patterns conducive to social interaction and uses an artificial intelligence model to draw design guidelines. The model draws on data from consumer studies and more than 40,000 formula tests. The firm scientifically validates its approach using a behavioural testing methodology developed in collaboration with a research institute.
