At its general assembly in June 2025, the association announced an update to the Cosmos standard, effective from 1 September 2025. Brands can now calculate the percentage of organic ingredients by excluding water and minerals. This change aims to enhance the transparency and consistency of organic labels in response to the increasing number of unverified so-called "natural" claims.
Cosmébio also reported that the organic market was showing signs of recovery, with significant growth at Biocoop (+8.5%) and La Vie Claire (+8%). The association also outlined scenarios for the sector by 2035, emphasising the need for collective action to sustain this positive momentum.
Furthermore, a study based on seven years of consumer testing (145 certified products) reveals a significant increase in satisfaction. Since 2019, the recommendation score has quadrupled, with consumers increasingly appreciating the sensory qualities, user experience, fragrance, perceived value for money, and packaging of organic products.
