Symrise introduces a 100% plant-derived version of carnosine

The German group has launched Dragosine^® green, a 100% plant-derived L-carnosine produced through biofermentation. With a Natural Origin Index of 1, the water-soluble active ingredient brings a well-established anti-ageing molecule to high-naturality skincare formulations. Designed for products that help preserve the skin's long-term functionality and delay the appearance of the first visible signs of ageing, it protects against exposome-related stressors – including UV radiation, blue light, infrared radiation and heat – according to Symrise. It also supports collagen synthesis, fibronectin production, epidermal cell proliferation, and the biological mechanisms involved in protecting the skin against glycation and cellular senescence. Water-soluble and stable under both heat and air exposure, Dragosine^®green is effective at concentrations as low as 0.2% and is suitable for facial skincare, body care, sun care, dermocosmetics and natural-origin formulations.
