Roelmi takes a stake in Vortex

The Italian group, active in cosmetics, nutraceuticals, medical devices and the pet-vet sector, has taken a stake in the Piedmont-based start-up specialising in the valorisation of agri-food by-products. The investment will notably enable Vortex to accelerate the development of new projects and benefit from the group’s industrial, commercial and research capabilities across more than 50 countries.

Vortex uses patented technologies to recover agri-food by-products and transform them into functional ingredients, creating value from materials that are currently discarded or used as biomass. For Roelmi, the investment is expected to strengthen its technological and industrial expertise and support new growth opportunities in its target markets.
