Launched under the impetus of the 2021 Plastic Act, this initiative brings together fifty players from the sector and relies on coopetition to create a viable alternative to plastic. Supported by (RE)SET, a consulting firm dedicated to environmental and economic transition, and backed by Febea, Citeo (the Extended Producer Responsibility eco-organism) and its subsidiary Adelphe, the consortium aims to design sustainable paper-based packaging. It brings together 13 sponsors – including 11 brands – as well as suppliers, laboratories, and start-ups. After three years of research, Pulp in Action has announced the completion of the first industrial prototypes: cellulose sachets made from more than 70% paper, refill cups, samples containing 85% paper, and tubes incorporating functionalised, moisture-resistant paper. By leveraging collective intelligence, this programme aims to create a new generation of robust
and functional packaging, with a focus on attractiveness. It stands as one of the most ambitious and impactful projects in the sector for driving the ecological transition.
