La Cosmétothèque: new governance and launch of the Bibnum digital library

At the beginning of 2026, the association entered a new strategic development phase, marked by a governance transition and a strengthened academic foundation. Now chaired by Professor Anne-Marie Granet, La Cosmétothèque operates through a partnership with the Université Grenoble Alpes (UGA), complementing the existing Cosmethics program. This collaboration between the private sector and academia aims to formalize the transmission of knowledge and structure the historical resources of the beauty industry.

The highlight of this evolution is the launch of Bibnum (https://bibnum-cosmetotheque.com), a digital library dedicated to cosmetic heritage. Currently in its pre-launch phase, it offers an initial selection of digitized works available for restricted consultation in compliance with copyright laws. This archival collection, designed for researchers and professionals, is set to expand through future donations of documents and iconographic funds. Concurrently, the association’s website is undergoing an editorial overhaul to improve search fluidity, while specialized communication regarding the industry's history will be developed on LinkedIn.
