The beauty giant presented two innovations using near infrared technology: the Light Straight + Multi-styler for hair styling and a LED facial mask for skincare, developed in partnership with the British company iSMART Developments.

Designed by L'Oréal Research & Innovation, the Light Straight + Multi-styler uses patented near-infrared light technology to reshape the internal hydrogen bonds in hair fibres at temperatures below 160°C, thereby limiting keratin denaturation. The device is equipped with smart sensors and proprietary algorithms that adapt the styling process to the user's movements.

On the skincare side, the ultra-thin, flexible silicone LED facial mask delivers two wavelengths controlled by an integrated microcircuit: 630 nm (red light) to stimulate collagen and suppleness, and 830 nm (near infrared) to act more deeply on circulation and visible signs of ageing. The strategic partnership between L'Oréal and iSMART focuses on developing and manufacturing next-generation LED phototherapy devices on a global scale, positioning light technology as a key driver of Beauty Tech and skin longevity solutions.
