Last June, at the Viva Technology trade show in Paris, France, the French giant highlighted its open innovation ecosystem in North Asia through the forum "New Frontiers of Beauty". Chinese, Japanese and South Korean start-ups from the Big Bang programme (Vemimsyn, TheSea and Asleep) presented solutions co-developed with L'Oréal, revealing an unprecedented dynamic of cross-border collaboration. The event marked a key milestone in the global expansion of the Asian innovation model, combining AI, biotechnology, and sleep technologies to transform the beauty tech segment.
L'Oréal also unveiled a new 3D AI-based design workflow, developed with the start-up Omi, featuring PhotoDrop functionality, which enables the integration of 3D products into customised backgrounds with photorealistic rendering. This partnership aligns with the group’s strategy to accelerate product image production, reduce costs, and enhance visual consistency. It is integrated into L'Oréal’s GenAI Beauty Content Lab. Additionally, the giant showcased its beauty tech advancements, such as Lancôme’s Rénergie Nano-Resurfacer 400 Booster, a device inspired by professional micro-needling to optimise the penetration of skincare products.
