The global cosmetic pigments market is expected to grow from $800 m (around €704 m) in 2026 to $1.19 bn (around €1.05 bn) by 2031, representing a compound annual growth rate of 8.2%, according to MarketsandMarkets. Asia-Pacific accounts for 43% of the market in 2026, while special-effect pigments represent 34%.

This growth is accompanied by a shift towards higher-value specialised pigments, sought for their colour intensity, dispersibility, stability and compatibility with formulations. Nanopigments are expected to be the fastest-growing category, while organic pigments are forecast to grow by 8% a year. The report also points to increasing demand for natural, bio-based and sustainably sourced solutions.
