Bormioli Luigi brings dual-compartment packaging to glass

With Indue, presented by Bormioli Luigi as the first dual-compartment glass bottle, the glassmaker is bringing to glass a packaging architecture previously available in plastic. The concept is designed for formulations whose active ingredients need to be kept separate and preserved until they are mixed at the point of dispensing. The manufacturer cites vitamin C, niacinamide, retinol and AHAs, as well as biphasic water- and oil-based formulations.

The bottle features two cavities of different capacities, with a two-thirds/one-third ratio, within a single piece of moulded glass. The industrial challenge lies in incorporating both compartments while maintaining an even distribution of glass. Developed with Aptar Beauty, the dispensing system delivers the required dose of each formula, which are mixed at the point of application. Brands can customise the concept in terms of design, capacities and decoration, with a pump adapted to the selected formulations.
