A Compostable Mouthwash Enters the Market

Canadian oral care brand Before is expanding its portfolio with Brilliant Breath, an alcohol-free mouthwash formulated to freshen breath while supporting a balanced oral microbiome. The formula combines sea salt, hyaluronic acid, aloe vera, zinc and vitamin C.

The main innovation lies in its packaging: the product is housed in a Vivomer container, a plant-based biomaterial developed by the London-based company Shellworks. According to the partners, it is the first mouthwash in North America to be marketed in a fully home-compostable, plastic-free package.

Available in the United States and Canada via the brand's website, Amazon and Sprouts Farmers Market stores, the launch reflects the growing interest in solutions that combine efficacy, natural credentials and reduced environmental impact.
