Symrise: Digital innovation and climate commitment

At COP30 in Belém, the German company launched Houston, a digital platform co-developed with CO₂ AI, which enables the precise and efficient measurement of product- and corporate-level carbon footprints in real time. This tool provides actionable data to prioritise decarbonisation actions, enhance transparency and ensure regulatory compliance, setting a new benchmark for single-source carbon accounting. Meanwhile, Symrise is co-chairing the Sustainable Business Bioeconomy Working Group and has partnered with Deutsche Bank, Honduras, and Suriname to develop certified sovereign carbon credits dedicated to protecting tropical forests. This initiative promotes the conservation of existing ecosystems, fosters an inclusive bioeconomy, and supports local communities and biodiversity.
