The French group has announced the acquisition of a majority stake in Anders, a South American distributor of specialty chemicals. Founded in Lima, Peru, in 1964, the company operates in six countries – Bolivia, Ecuador, Chile, Colombia, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay – and supplies the industrial and life sciences sectors with ingredients, consumables and equipment. This transaction will strengthen Safic-Alcan's presence in Latin America, aligning with its sustainable development strategy and providing new capabilities in the form of a future technology centre and seven application laboratories. Safic-Alcan has acquired Ingredients Plus, a distributor based in Malaysia and Singapore specialising in cosmetics, household products, coatings, and industrial applications. Established between 2007 and 2010, the company runs three technical laboratories focusing on personal care, coatings, and fragrances. This transaction follows Safic-Alcan’s recent expansion in India and aims to consolidate its regional platform in order to capture future growth. The company’s founders, Graeme Love and Chai Sien Theng, will be joining the group.
