Mérieux NutriSciences to acquire Certified Group

The French testing and scientific services specialist has entered into an agreement to acquire the North American group backed by Warburg Pincus. With revenues of approximately $300 million, Certified Group operates 31 laboratories across North America and provides microbiological and chemical testing, contract research, certification, auditing and regulatory consulting services.

The transaction will notably enable Mérieux NutriSciences to integrate COS, a business specialising in testing for cosmetics, OTC products and dietary supplements, further strengthening its expertise in these sectors. It will also expand its North American footprint and regulatory support capabilities.

Expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions, the acquisition will bolster Mérieux NutriSciences’ network, which currently comprises more than 140 accredited laboratories and 10,000 employees worldwide.
