With Malvallin™ MBAL, a new patent-pending botanical active, Croda is approaching prejuvenation through the lens of skin longevity. The ingredient simultaneously targets adipocytes, fibroblasts and keratinocytes, notably via the adiponectin pathway, to help preserve skin volume, structure and overall quality.
Its action stimulates adipocyte differentiation and adiponectin synthesis, increases PLIN2 expression and supports the extracellular matrix. At epidermal level, it also strengthens antioxidant defences and hydration mechanisms, with an effect on ceramides and cornulin.
After 28 days, the clinical data reported show improvements in skin texture and radiance, together with reductions in roughness and redness. 3D imaging also demonstrates the preservation of cheek volume.
