The French deep tech company presented Byome Derma at CES Las Vegas (6 to 9 January 2026). This device, which can be used directly at the point of sale, instantly measures the skin microbiome and provides personalised skincare recommendations. By focusing on ultra-personalisation, the start-up aims to redefine the codes of beauty tech. Its technology received dual recognition: first prize in the Brands and Retailers category at the 2025 Cosmetic 360 Awards (see Expression Cosmétique No. 96, p.74), and the "Elles innovent" prize at the Trophées des Entreprises du Puy-de-Dôme (Photo). Backed by a Seed funding round of €3.6 million – led by Remora Biotech, Paris Business Angels, Angels Santé, and several strategic business angels – the start-up plans to industrialise the first kits in spring 2026, with international roll-out in Europe, the United States and Asia from the beginning of the year. Byome Labs is also targeting a Series A funding round of €5 million in the second quarter. In
parallel, the company is co-leading a multi-stakeholder working group, alongside Cosmetic Valley, dedicated to developing future standards for microbiome analysis.
