As part of the 60th anniversary celebrations of its Whitman facility in Petersfield, The Estée Lauder Companies has announced the integration of selected activities from its partner Contract Candles into its UK manufacturing network. The move includes the takeover of a production site, the gradual onboarding of around 50 employees, and the strengthening of R&D and quality control capabilities.
The UK will become the group's primary global manufacturing hub for candles across several brands, including Jo Malone London, Tom Ford and Aerin. Since fiscal year 2020, the company has invested $72 million (approximately €63 million) in the modernization of the Whitman facility, which produces more than 90 million units annually.
